Marietta Fertility Acupuncture for Infertility After treating patients for 4 years at the Anxiety & Stress Management Institute in Marietta Georgia for infertility and other women’s health issues, in December of 2013 we have relocated our Marietta office to Kennestone Hospital’s Cancer center. We hope to continue our relationship with Kennestone and the Marietta community for many years to come. While some may think a hospital an unusual place to seek out complimentary medicine such as acupuncture, it’s actually a growing trend in the United States’ hospitals and fertility centers. In China there are Chinese medicine hospitals as well as western medical hospitals. Integrative medicine is practiced in both types of hospitals in China. We hope that gradually Chinese medicine will become the star of a future integrative medicine department at our Marietta hospital where patients can come to receive the best of both worlds. As time goes by western trained physicians have become more open-minded and supportive of acupuncture and Chinese medicine. In my early years of practicing fertility acupuncture it was challenging to find a gynecologist or infertility doctor who thought that acupuncture could possibly be used for anything more than stress reduction. Since the late 1990’s acupuncture research has continued to be published of which the majority supports acupuncture’s efficacy in enhancing one’s fertility. Now all 5 of Atlanta’s fertility centers in Marietta and surrounding areas regularly refer patients for acupuncture. I’m happy to report that currently all of Georgia Reproductive Specialists 3 doctors are in full support of not only acupuncture for infertility but Chinese medicinal herbs to enhance your fertility. For Marietta patients who are working on fertility issues and would like to use acupuncture and Chinese herbs to aid conception, most will find our new office very convenient: Wherever you are in the process of trying to conceive, whether it be trying at home, initial testing or medication with a gynecologist, working with a Marietta reproductive endocrinologist on an IUI of IVF, or you have tried unsuccessfully and are taking a break from fertility or looking for something to combine with your next cycle to optimize your chances for pregnancy, you can add fertility acupuncture and herbs to overcome infertility. If you live in Marietta or north of Atlanta please visit our site’s comprehensive infertility acupuncture page or our sister acupuncture fertility site to learn more about how Chinese medicine can help you conceive. Mark Schwartz, L.Ac. is the only Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM) practicing Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture in Marietta. The ABORM is a non-profit 501(C)6 corporation devoted to teaching, research, and the practice of Oriental Medicine as it relates to the treatment of reproductive disorders. The ABORM offers a board certification examination that is 50% western reproductive medicine and 50% Chinese reproductive medicine. Acupuncturists must have been in practice for a number of years and complete additional infertility related courses prior to sitting for the exam. The purpose of the exam is to demonstrate to the patients that we care for and the doctors that we collaborate with that fertility is truly our area of specialty and not just something we occasionally treat. When you are seeking out a doctor to help have a child you will not go a general practitioner, but rather you will seek out a gynecologist or reproductive endocrinologist to consult with. Likewise an ABORM acupuncturist herbalist is a Chinese medical specialist deeply familiar and experienced with the issues that you need to work on to help you have a child. We work closely with our western trained counterparts and when necessary can even refer to a gynecologist in Marietta’s Kennestone Hospital for consultation or further testing. We offer a free fifteen minute phone consultation to gather some background information and make time to answer any questions you may have. Please see our contact page or call 678-549-7848.
